He is also the founder of Pie For Breakfast Studios, a Northeast Ohio-area indie game company. He has done work as an artist, animator, level designer, and project manager in the game industry. He holds a Masters Degree in Architecture with a concentration in digital media from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.\u00a0Chris is an organizer for the <a href=\"http:\/\/indiepopup.com\/\">Smithsonian American Art Museum Indie Arcade<\/a> and lifetime member of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA).<\/p>\n<p>Chris has written articles featured on Gamasutra, Game Career Guide, and other publications and is a frequent speaker at game industry conferences such as GDC, GDC China, East Coast Game Conference, GDEX, and others. He is the author of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crcpress.com\/Architectural-Approach-to-Level-Design-Second-edition\/Totten\/p\/book\/9780815361367\"><em>An Architectural Approach to Level Design<\/em><\/a>, published with CRC Press\/AK Peters in 2014 (2nd edition published in 2019) and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Game-Character-Creation-Blender-Unity\/dp\/1118172728\/ref=sr_1_1_title_1_pap?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1400623870&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=game+character+creation+with+blender+and+unity\"><em>Game Character Creation in Blender and Unity<\/em><\/a>, released by Wiley Publishing in 2012.
